Pray for all our troops

Santiva Saltwater Fishing Team was recently involved in the Captiva Rod and Gun Club annual fishing tournament.  As a team we are especially eager for this event , as now the Trophy is dedicated to our beloved Tommy who passed away last February

This letter came to me from Capt. Jim's team and I wanted to pass it along , so that others

might include the guys in your prayers.

While we were in the 2nd place spotlight for 15 seconds and I had $400.00 in hand, reality checked in when Rich S. announced that his team caught more total inches than my team with Jimbo. Dan took the $$ and handed it to Rich. We were ¾ of an inch short of tying them. All in good fun and it makes a great story.

The highlight of the day was to meet you in person. I will always remember your big smile and warm hug. Jimbo was so patient with us and made the day fun in spite of the weather. He suggested we fish together next year in the tournament and I agreed.

Remember my Connie’s son, Josh, the Navy SEAL? He is getting married in late May to a cute girl, a nurse, from Oak Ridge, TN. Josh’s sister, Whitney, introduced them a couple of years ago. You added Josh to your prayer list before his last deployment and his next one comes in November. If you have room on your list, please add him again.

We had Josh and 42 of his teammates, all SEALs, at our house for dinner a couple of weeks back. They were training near Memphis and headed to Louisville/Ft Knox KY. They were with us for 4-5 hours and we had a blast. A dear friend, Coach Jimmy G, joined us and spoke to the group. Coach Jimmy is 86 years old and was in the Army during the Battle of the Bulge and help liberate Dachau concentration camp. His story about that is amazing. Coach Jimmy and Connie’s Dad, Pack, played football together.

We hope to be back on Captiva in June and July to stir up some Tarpon. All the best to you and the family. I feel so blessed to know you and your gang.
