Southwest Florida Water

I want to give a big yell out to all of our friends and Customer's across the United States.

We would think that we could trust our very own news reporters to report the truth. The thought occurs to me that the News Media in our  area should want to protect our tourism along with our environment and the people of Lee County living and working here.
It is been my experience over the years that the news media catches hold of a story and hangs on like a bulldog until something better comes along. Years ago Capt. Jim and I owned a little hotel on the beach at Blind Pass, they were called Santiva Cottages. Any time the wind blew hard from the west or northwest along with the high tide Santiva Cottages would have water running down the drive and on to the porches.  Here would come the news media because they knew that Santiva Cottages would be the wettest place on Sanibel with the Mucky Duck restaurant being their favorite place on Captiva. Sensational pictures were what they were looking for,
in order to report how terrible the flooding was on Sanibel and Captiva.

I'll never forget how the news media could exploit the situation.

I've said all that to bring you the truth about the water situation here in Lee County
I don't know anything about the treasure coast. How bad their water is?
How bad their  beaches are now? How bad the algae situation is that they're fighting? But I can guarantee you that the pictures you see on the news are the very worst pictures the news media can find. Plus don’t forget how the government works. I am sure federal funding comes into play in all of this too.

Sanibel and Captiva have beautiful beaches
Jim and I went out on the boat yesterday in the bay and I didn't see any algae. We enjoyed our morning caught a grouper for dinner and thanked the God in heaven for the place we lived.
So when you see those pictures on your newscast please remember to call talk to someone in the area that you planned a vacation in.  Have them send you some recent pictures of the situation. Don’t cancel; don’t assume that the news media is having the best interest of everyone
I'm sure there are problem with the runoff from Lake Okeechobee I'm sure that up the river there's algae I'm sure that part of the story is truthful, but I'm also sure that the news media would have you think that the sky is falling.
Oh I almost forgot yes the water is a little on the Brown side not pretty and emerald green but in no way is it harmful to us.

Blessings

Dall Burnsed
