John Danko
Don't ask me how he did it, but John Danko convinced his bride of 25years Gail to celebrate their mile stone on Captiva Island.......so John could catch a Silver King.  Fishing today with Capt. Jim Burnsed of the Santiva Saltwater  Fishing Team John got his reward.

Even more shocking to this 42 year marriage veteran is THEY LEFT THE DOCK AT 6:30 AM.......now that is LOVE.

On mine and Capt Jim's first anniversary, I paddled him around Sand Lake while he fished for bass, then on our 25th he took me to International Falls, MN to go Walleye fishing......I can't wait to see what is planed for 50 ?
Remember couples..true love is "Pleasing you Pleases me"

Congratulation John and Gail on 25 years of marriage.

Capt. Jimmy Burnsed, fishing customers Jim and Nina Sullivan landed this Florida record breaking Tarpon on Thursday May 19 on the afternoon tide in Boca Grand Pass.
Capt. Jimmy  Burnsed, the second ranking guide for the Santiva Saltwater Fishing Team, used the state approved tarpon  weight chart of girth times length to get the weight of this monster fish 246 lbs.
The fight between fish and human lasted several hours and took all three angles aboard the boat to land the Tarpon.  Jim Sullivan and wife Nina said they had to give the rod up to there Captain about an hour and half into the fight.  Capt. Jimmys cousin Capt. Joey was fishing the pass too and came along side for the historic event.

Capt. Jim Burnsed and parents M.G and Sara Burnsed
Capt. Jim Burnsed poised Mothers Day with his parents Rev. M.G. and Sara Burnsed (ret.)

M.G. Burnsed will celebrate his 90th birthday in September and still walks the 2 miles every morning to Bowman's Beach and back.
The couple past 66 years of marriage Valentines Day 2011.
M.G. grew up on the farm lands of south Georgia and Sara was the daughter of a fishing guide off the coast of South Carolina. I don't know how they met, but I know that M.G. swayed Sara with his pretty blue eyes and they eloped
Dedicating their lives to the service of Jesus Christ,  M.G.
responded to the calling of the ministry at the age of 33 .  He worked full time as a paint and body man, and full time as a pastor for the Nazarene church.  Sara was always the woman behind the man, raising 3 children Pat, Capt, Jim and Capt. Joe Burnsed and filling the large shoes as the Pastors wife.  Somewhere along the line M.G. was able to give up his job doing auto body work and put all his energy into the preaching of the gospel.
They have been wonderful parents and we are blessed as a family because of the christian example they have always been. Thanks Mom and Dad

Santiva Saltwater Fishing Team - The Burnsed Family

Tim Huyck
On Thursday of this week, the weather made a change on the Islands.
The Santiva Saltwater Fishing Team went from Tarpon fishing, to just hanging on.

Thursday, and Friday the wind blew hard creating difficult fishing conditions.  Once the water became muddy the Tarpon stopped feeding.
The Santiva Saltwater Fishing Team,  will  work hard to ensure that our customers , are able to have the best time possible while on the water, regardless of the weather.

Tim Huyck of Amhurts, NH. braved the windy conditions to fish on board with Capt. Shawn Kelly chartering with the Santiva Team.  Tim agrees that a bad day fishing is better than a good day at work.
